Working inside densely packed switchgear cabinets or deep underground utility trenches makes handling bulky, integrated crimping tools nearly impossible. When you need extreme compression force but have absolutely zero room to maneuver, relying on oversized equipment slows down the installation and leads to awkward, high-risk electrical terminations.
The Zupper manual hydraulic crimper CO-400B was manufactured to replace heavy, all-in-one tools in confined spaces. As a specialized remote crimping unit, it is specifically used for terminating massive copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) cables up to 400mm². By separating the bulky hydraulic reservoir from the actual crimping jaw, this tool delivers a crushing 155KN of force directly into the tightest electrical enclosures, ensuring flawless, zero-resistance joints without operator strain.
Important notice: The CO-400B is a split crimping head only. It does not generate pressure on its own and requires an external high-pressure hydraulic pump (sold separately) to operate.

For M&E contractors dealing with complex panel building or underground feeder cables, the CO-400B offers critical operational upgrades.
Because it does not house a built-in hydraulic oil reservoir or pumping handle, the hydraulic crimping tool CO-400B head is highly maneuverable. The flip-top latch design allows technicians to easily slip the jaws directly over continuous cable runs. This means you can position the head perfectly on a massive 400mm² lug deep inside a cramped cabinet, while another technician operates the manual hand pump safely from a comfortable distance.
Despite its optimized size, this heavy-duty head generates an immense 155KN (approx. 15.5 Tons) of hydraulic pressure. Utilizing a 25mm stroke, it effortlessly compresses standard hexagonal dies around thick copper conductors. This extreme pressure permanently cold-welds the wire strands and the lug together, eliminating microscopic air gaps and preventing long-term electrical arcing under high loads.
To guarantee this split-head tool aligns with your heavy-duty termination requirements, here are its exact operational limits:
